Red-necked longhorn beetle

This is a designated alien species. Keeping and transporting them is prohibited by law. The larvae feed on living trees such as cherry, plum, and peach trees. Their distribution area is expanding and causing damage. At Oizumi Ryokuchi, we deal with larvae by injecting a chemical into the escape hole. We also wrap adult insects in nets to prevent them from flying away. Any adult insects we find during inspections are caught and killed on the spot. Oizumi Ryokuchi Official Instagram

Creatures of Oizumi Ryokuchi [White-spotted Flower Beetle]

This is a type of scarab beetle that is commonly seen in the park, but each individual has a different body color. This one was walking along the garden path in the morning, so I found and photographed it on my way to work. It has a beautiful color that is a mix of green and purple. There are also some with a stronger green color and some with a more metallic bronze color. #Oizumi Green Space #White-spotted flower beetle #Nature Observation #Insect observation #Parent-child outings #Outdoor play #Outdoor Oizumi Ryokuchi Official Instagram
