Plant name: Lotus

    Lotus flowers are blooming in Oizumi Pond. Lotus is an aquatic plant that has been cultivated since ancient times in the lotus genus Lotus. (In some cases, it is classified as a water lily.) Tubers are made in the soil on the bottom of the water, and the leaves and flower stems are extended to the surface of the water. The tubers made in the soil are known as "lotus root" of vegetables, but the lotus in the Oizumi green space is a variety made for the purpose of enjoying the flowers and the tubers are not very fat and are not suitable for food.

Plant name: Agapanthus
Best time to see: From early June to late July

    Agapanthus flowers are blooming.
    Agapanthus is a cold-resistant perennial plant of the genus Agapanthus of the lily family.
    Since it is very strong and almost untouched, it is used in parks, flower beds, and also for cut flowers.
    Most are pale blue-violet flowers, but there are also white ones.
    In Oizumi Ryokuchi, you can see it in the contact garden, green path, and next to the management office.

Plant name: Oleander
Best time to see: From early June to early August

    Oleander flowers are blooming everywhere in the park.
    Kikutoku is an evergreen medium to shrub of the genus Oleander, genus Oleander, which has a strong tree vigor, grows well in places where other plants do not grow, and is also commonly found in roadside trees because it is strong against air pollution.
    In Oizumi Ryokuchi, you can see four types of oleander in the south of the lawn open space.
